NAME: D. L. Withers

D. L. Withers, Education Specialist, is currently in her eleventh year of 
teaching.  She educates third grade students and serves as a Teacher Support 
Specialist (mentor) to new teachers in Cobb County, GA.

Mrs. Withers received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from 
the University of the District of Columbia, Master of Education in 
Curriculum and Instruction (specializing in Urban Education and Literacy) 
from Trinity University, and Education Specialist in Curriculum, 
Instruction, Management, and Administration from NOVA Southeastern 
University.  

She is currently affiliated with the following organizations:  Society of 
Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Kappa Delta Pi, International 
Reading Association, National Education Association, Georgia Association of 
Educators, and Cobb County Association of Educators.

D. L. enjoys attending cultural events, writing, and traveling with her 
husband.  She has been influenced by her grandmother, a talented and 
accomplished author in her own right.
