This is the month of November. It's hard imagine we are nearing the end of
this Liturgical season. In four short week we will be entering into the season
of Advent.
Advent means awaiting the coming. We as Catholic christian are awaiting the
birth of Jesus.
It is fitting that approaching Advent we go through a period of thankfulness.
Each of us can find something to be thankful for. Whether it's your job or
your health. Scripture tells us in all things give God praise which is
thanking Him for His awesomeness.
Why do we remember the saints? Is it because they were perfect in all that
they did? I think we remember the saints because the Church chose them to be
examples for us. These very normal people made a decision to follow Jesus. We
all can be called saints if we choose to follow Jesus.
Saints to Remember:
Nov. 3 St.
Martin De Porres loves stretched was not only for people but for animals. He
possessed spiritual wisdom
Do you love animals and care for
others?
Nov. 10 St. Leo the Great was a
peace maker. Do you try to be peaceful at home?
Nov. 11 St. Martin of Tours is
the Patron Saint for soldiers. Do you remember to pray for our soldiers and
their families?
Nov. 16 St. Margaret of
Scotland founded many church while she was king. She is know to be prayerful
and have many devotions. Do you pray for your loved ones and attend mass,
maybe say a rosary?
In order to be thankful we have to be
hopeful. So remember this:
1. There is another side
2. God can be trusted to do what is
best.
3. God answers our petitions as they
align with his plan.
4. God gives us peace in every storm.
5. God's grace and presence are
sufficient.
6. God's purpose will prevail.
After his suffering, Job was doubly
blessed. (Job 42:10)
