Pam Lundquist: I started Calico Kids Day Care in 1980 after the birth of
our third child. Since 1980, many things have changed! I have gone back to
school, taken many courses in Early Childhood Education, attended many
conferences, and read many books and articles. I have raised three children
and loved and cared for several foster children. I have also worked in Church
Nurseries and taught a girl's high school Sunday School Class. Even after all
these years I still love to see the little ones grow and learn new things -
every day is new with a baby!
Diane Blanchette: Diane joined Calico Kids Day Care in 1990 and is not only
employed by Calico Kids Day Care but is now a family friend. Diane
has also taken many classes, conferences, read lots and lots of books, etc.
If I had to do it, I made her do it too! The children refer to Diane as "Mama
'Chette", many years ago a little girl was struggling to say "Mrs. Blanchette"
sighed and said "Mama 'Chette"! so that's who she is now. Diane has two grown
sons, and lives with her husband, Papa 'Chette (who else?!), in Hudson, NH.
Wendy Lundquist: I have grown up working at Calico Kids since my mom is the
owner. I graduated from college in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Early
Childhood Education. I completed my Master's Degree in 2001. I have
taught in the South Carolina Public School system for seven years and have
been back in NH since June 2006. I have been teaching the Preschool program
since I have moved back into the area. Currently I also teach the afternoon
Kindergarten program at Charlotte Ave. School in Nashua.
Julie Shumpert: I have also grown up in child care. I graduated from college
in 2003 with a degree in Health Fitness and Recreation. I have been employed
at Calico Kids since 2006. I have three sons, 3 1/2 years, 2 years and a baby
born 2.22.09. I regularly attend conferences and workshops that relate to
early childhood development. I work with the infants and just love it! Not
only am I able to spend time with my own children, but I am able to watch
others as they work to attain new goals each day. This is a perfect place for
a young Mom to work!
