How do I make the Team?
We have cuts on Wednesday of the first week of practice. The time cut will
be determined by the total number of people trying out. We can keep
aproximately 50 swimmers/Divers (aproximately - Boys 21 swimmers 4 divers-
Girls 21 swimmers 4 divers)
If you are a year round swimmer, you must tryout on the same day as everone
else.
--------------------------------------
When does the season start?
Our first practice will be Monday, November 13th, 2006 at Seatack Rec
Center. You are required to come to practice everyday, only if it is cleared
with the coaches ahead of time will a missed practice be excused. Unexcused
practices results in being held out of meets or if there are excessive
unexcused missed practices then the swimmer will be dismissed from the team.
--------------------------------------
How do we get to the Rec Centers?
Ocean Lakes will provide bus trasportation to and from the centers. It will
be a Academy bus that will take the swimmers to the Rec Centers and a
different bus to transport them back to school to catch an activity bus.
Swimmers are not allowed to ride with friends to practice, but can catch a
ride home from the Rec Centers.
--------------------------------------
Do I need to join the Rec Center?
No, you will need to check in at the desk before entering the lockerroom
areas.
--------------------------------------
How much do swim suits cost?
Seniors get to pick out the suits and the caps. The school will take $20
off every girls suit and $10 off every boys suit. We will let you know the
final cost as soon as possible.
--------------------------------------
Do I need to come to practice? What about Year Round swimmers?
YES, You are required to come to practice everyday, only if it is cleared
with the coaches ahead of time will a missed practice be excused. Unexcused
practices results in being held out of meets or if there are excessive
unexcused missed practices then the swimmer will be dismissed from the team.
If you swim year round you must come to atleast one practice per week. If
you are not going to your year round practice then you need to be at OL's
Practice. That is our team policy and
we uphold it. Even on meet weeks, you must attend one practice per week or
you will not be able to swim in that weeks meet. Most year round swimmers
come on Thursday since we have the pasta dinners those nights.
--------------------------------------
Will we have practice over the holidays?
YES, we will have practice over both Thanksgiving and Winter Break! We will
have the dates and times as soon as we have them. But if you have to out
of t own for family reasons, (we hope swimming will come first) just give us
a writen note from your parents.

What will be issued?
Once the final cuts are made, you will be given a team suit (that you buy a
protion of), a team cap, a team bag, a wram-up, mesh bag, paddles and pull
bouy. If you loose any of it, you will be responsible to pay for the lost
iteams.
--------------------------------------
Do I have to ride the bus to the meets?
Most definitley! WE are a team and we sill act like one. At the conclusion
of the meet youcan ride home with YOUR parents and only your parents. A bus
will drive us back to OLHS for those that don't ride home with their
parents. If you don't ride the bus, you will not swim in the meet.
