When and where do you meet?

Masonic Hall
1800 E. 23rd

Regular stated meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each
month (dark in July and August.)

What are the purposes of the Order of Eastern Star?

The Order of the Eastern Star, the world’s largest fraternal organization 
involving men and women with Masonic affiliation, is dedicated to 
raising the quality of life within each community, giving philanthropic and 
spiritual aid that benefits humanity, and providing its members with 
fulfilling and uplifting experiences.

What is ESTARL?

Each year about $20,000 in ESTARL (Eastern Star Training Awards for 
Religious Leadership) scholarships are awarded in Kansas to an 
average of 30 to 35 students.  Awards are based on need, scholastic 
record and funds available, and they are given to assist young men and 
women studying for the ministry, the mission field, youth leadership, 
religious education and church music education.  A student need not 
have a Masonic or Eastern Affiliation to apply.

What are some of the other good things that Eastern Star does?

Eastern Star also provudes thousands of dollars in scholarships each 
year, averaging $500 each, to students in any field of higher education, 
but they must have Masonic or Eastern Star Affiliation.  

Eastern Star members help support the Kansas Masonic Home in 
Wichita, where many of the senior members reside.  

Other charitable projects supported by donations and memorials by the 
Order of the Eastern Star are :  the heart Fund, Cancer Research, 
Diabetes, and many other charities and local community projects.

Is the Order of the Eastern Star a secret society?

No. Secret societies are underground and hard to find. We are easily 
found within the community but we enjoy a distinctive means of 
identifying each other. Only members are allowed in a closed meeting.

Is my religious faith allowed In the Order of the Eastern Star?

Yes. Members of all religions may belong to the Order of the Eastern 
Star. We only require a belief in a Supreme Being.
