The River City Drum Corp (RCDC) drummers are frequently exposed to various
cultural events within our community, throughout the state, and across the
country. Each drummer is expected to honorably represent our program and
themselves at all times.

One expectation of RCDC members is that a grade-appropriate narrative report
is typed, proofread, and submitted within 48 hours of the event.

The report criteria are as follows: Write using complete sentences; include
an introduction, body, and conclusion for each piece. The 5 main points
should also be identified: Who? What? When? Where? Why? (The purpose of the
occasion.) The use of sensory details should be included (sight, sound,
smell, touch, and taste). The drummer should tell about an interesting
observation that he/she learned or noticed about oneself, a fellow drummer,
or someone in the audience.

An edited copy of the report is forwarded to the respective Show Manager
within 48 hours of the event.

These pieces can possibly be utilized in school portfolios; therefore,
the students are encouraged to forward a copy to their Language Arts teacher.
